Our efforts over many years to build up a worldwide network in research, production, purchase and sale of seeds enables us to offer our customers exceptional products and services. Westyard has set up a unique production concept ideally suited to the seed sales market, particularly in Europe and the USA, with an area of over 7.000 hectares in seed production.

Care for total process

In collaboration with our large production units selected by Westyard itself in Germany, Scandinavia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, our seed is produced to a very high standard. Westyard takes care of contracts, technical advice, harvesting and the entire process right up to and including delivery to our customers, in a professional manner. In addition to contract production, Westyard also sells a range seeds of our own varieties including grass and other species. We also offer mixtures incorporating our own varieties.

60 years of experience

Westyard’s heritage is more than 60 years of experience in the field of grass seeds! Our grass seed organization was founded by Rob Westerhof on January 1, 2016, after he had taken over all the activities of Nas Ag-Consultancy. But our history goes back even further. Nas Ag-Consultancy was managed by Michel Nas, a highly respected grass seed expert who has worked for more than 40 years within the grass seed business an set up his own grass seed organization in 2004. This knowledge and expertise, in combination with Rob Westerhof's more than 25 years of experience in the grass seed business, characterizes Westyard.

Forage grasses

Westyard has access to a high performing portfolio of forage grass varieties with proven excellent results on various variety lists throughout our sales territories enabling the end users to have confidence in our products.

Cover Crops

Our cover crop range is composed of the best varieties of oil seed radish, white mustard, phacelia and other products. As soil is the most valuable component for the farmer, it is important to keep it healthy and our products can play a major role in this process.

Nitrogen Fixation crops

Nitrogen is an extremely hot topic these days, and is one of the most important nutrients for crop growth. Choosing a nitrogen fixing crop that adds N to your soils is a relatively easy, inexpensive and environmentally friendly means of incorporating this key nutrient to your farming system.

Turf grasses

In addition to fodder grasses, we also produce many different species of grass varieties for amenity, sports and domestic lawns.

Other species

Due to to our wide knowledge and experience in the world of grass and other seeds, it is a small step to apply our expertise to other species. For example, Westyard has also been producing alfalfa (lucerne)and cereals (wheat and malting barley) for several years. The companies that we have selected to co-operate with us on these crops have specialised knowledge of this market, built up over decades, and know all the ins and outs of this crop sector We would be happy to discuss the opportunities with you in a personal meeting.
