Cover Crops
Our cover crop range is composed of the best varieties oil seed radish, white mustard, phacelia and other products. As soil is the most valuable component for the farmer, it is important to keep it healthy. Healthy soils give the farmers a better return on the cash crops, and thus are adding value for the farmer. Our varieties have the best resistances against nematodes and bad plant pathogens, but they also contribute to the increase of organic matter and improved soil structure.
White Mustard (Sinapis alba)
White mustard is a fast-growing crop that rapidly covers the ground. Under favourable conditions, it produces a significant amount of organic matter within a short timeframe. This makes it exceptionally well-suited for late sowing until September, although spring sowing is also entirely feasible.

Oil seed radish (Raphanus sativus)
Oil seed radish, scientifically known as Raphanus sativus, is a multifunctional and beneficial cover crop in the realm of agriculture. Recognized for its cruciferous and green manure properties, this plant typically reaches heights between 80cm and 110cm. It is an annual, rapidly growing species, primarily cultivated for its contributions to improving soil conditions and fertility. The plant’s most notable characteristic is its robust taproot system, which delves deep into the soil, breaking through compacted layers, thereby enhancing soil structure and promoting better air circulation. Additionally, this root system is adept at retrieving and retaining nutrients that are at risk of being washed away, ensuring their availability for future crops.
Adoria
Adoria
It is a mid with white/purple flowers. It is a double resistant variety with resistance to beet cyst noematodes and resistance to meloidogyne chitwoodi.
Key features
- Mid late ripening variety
- High dry matter yield
- Medium height of plants
- White and purple flowers
- Drought resistance
- Fast establisment
- Very rich root system
ADORIA is a double resistant variety and is optimal for use in rotations with sugar beets and potatoes to kill nematodes. This improves the healthy growth of subsequent crops, especially sugar beets and potatoes.
Sowing spring: April-May
Sowing autumn: July-August/early September
Seed density: 20 – 25kg/ha
Seed depth: 1 – 2 cm
Fertilization: 40-60 kg/haN
Fodder radish contains a high percentage of nitrogen (low C/Nratio) and this nitrogen is released quickly. This results in the following positive nitrogen effect:
After effect
- 10-25kg N/haon sandy soils
- 5-25kg N/ha on caly soils

Lara
Lara
Lara is a new variety and since 2023 on the EU-list.
Lara creates a very rich root system. Strong and long roots can go deep even in clay soils. LARA is drought resistant. Plants and roots leave a large amount of humus in the soil profile and this improves the soil structure significantly. Especially important for poorer soils. The fast growth of LARA also reduces erosion.
Lara has been nematode-resistant and is optimal for use in rotations with sugar beets and potatoes to kill nematodes. This improves the healthy growth of subsequent crops, especially sugar beets and potatoes. The variety is suitable for green manure and as an intercrop. Phacelia (Phacelia)
Phacelia is a versatile plant known for its rapid growth and high biomass production. It serves as an effective nitrogen holder and weed suppressor, with beautiful purple flowers that attract bees and beneficial insects. As a green manure, it improves soil quality and is particularly useful in preventing nitrogen leaching. Phacelia’s dense shallow roots are excellent for conditioning the topsoil, and it can be sown from spring to autumn. The plant is generally problem-free, but it should be destroyed at or just after flowering to prevent seed shed. Phacelia can be mixed with other fast-establishing species like mustard and buckwheat.
